G. M. Howerton is a multiple award winning photographer residing in Danville, Virginia. All of his images are individually created by hand using traditional darkroom methods. No digital manipulation of any kind is used. All of the materials used in the construction of each image are acid free and of archival standards.

Howerton's work has been referred to as environmental isolationism, absent of the daily presence of humanity. He prefers to consider his approach to photography as a search for escape from the day to day excess. In his photographs he seeks to define solitude, peace, and drama.  His work is a pursuit of technical excellence and good composition as well as an expression of soul and personal vision.
