- I start by taking a photograph using a Large
Format(4x5) using 4x5 sheet film.
- In my Studio/Darkroom I develop, wash and dry the
film.
- The film is mounted in one of two enlargers. Either
the American Made Bessler 45VXL or the Italian Made
Durst 4x5 enlarger.
- Under Darkroom Conditions, light is projected
through the Film Negative onto a sheet of Fiber Based
Silver Gelatin paper.
- I practice similar Dodging and Burning Techniques
followed by Ansel Adams as the light from the enlarger
is projected from the Film image onto the paper.
- The next step in the process is to run the Silver
Gelatin paper through wet trays to "Develop", "Stop",
and "Fix" the photograph.
- The developed photograph is then washed for a period
of 1.5 - 2 hours.
- The photograph is then placed onto wire screens and
allowed to dry overnight.
- Each photograph is then Heat Press mounted onto Acid
Free Mat Boards, Overlay Mats are cut from Black Acid
Free Mat Boards, Matching Size Acid Free Foam Boards are
cut for Backing and the Photograph is either Bagged in
an Acid Free Bag or Framed for display.
